Highlights
CFIT launched its inaugural Open Finance coalition in July 2023 and published an Open Finance Blueprint in February 2024. The Blueprint marked a significant milestone in our year-long journey. It showed how better data-sharing can provide improved access to credit for companies and swifter, more effective financial advice for consumers.
To mark the occasion, CFIT organised its first Showcase on 29 February 2024. The event brought together a remarkable assembly of thought leaders, academics, industry partners, policy makers and innovators, and demonstrated our work in showing the value Open Finance can add to UK consumers and businesses.
Showcase Presentation
The presentation we delivered at our showcase event to celebrate the findings and output of our coalition outlines the first industry-wide effort to deploy and advance Open Finance. This includes the development of Proofs of Concept (POC) for specific use cases benefiting UK citizens and SMEs.
These POCs were developed based on the following foundations and key enablers:
- Identifying data sharing blockers and conducting industry-led datasets prioritisation efforts,
- Developing a central, safe and secure data aggregation infrastructure,
- Building detailed authentication flow and consent hub wireframes giving consumer and SMEs unprecedented control,
- Designing dashboards to provide FS advisors and underwriters with intuitive data visualisation and analytics tools.
