Highlights
In the summer of 2024, the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT) launched its second coalition, Fighting Economic Crime Through Digital Verification. This brought together over 70 leading financial institutions, technology firms, and regulatory bodies to develop a robust verification framework aimed at strengthening trust, empowering SMEs, and driving economic growth: Digital Company ID.
To showcase the coalition’s progress and impact, CFIT hosted a dedicated event on 6th March 2024, attended by over 130 thought leaders, academics, industry partners, policymakers, and innovators. The event highlighted how digital verification can play a pivotal role in combating economic crime, enhancing financial security, and fostering trust across the UK’s financial ecosystem.
Showcase Presentation
Our Presentation highlighted the 8-month journey to form and assess the impact of the coalition’s asset: Digital Company ID. This includes the development of the Digital Company ID and its potential on improving the current KYB & Onboarding process SMEs and banks face.
The Digital Company ID is oriented around three components:
- Digital Verified Business Attributes & Credentials
- Verified Personal Digital Identities
- Digital Mandated Representatives
