CFIT’s journey

CFIT was established as a flagship recommendation of the 2021 Kalifa Review of UK Fintech, with seed funding from the UK government and delivery led by the City of London Corporation.

Officially launched in February 2023 in Leeds, CFIT brings together leaders from finance, technology, academia and regulators to drive innovation and unlock growth across the UK’s financial ecosystem.

Through our coalition work, we unite industry experts to tackle the sector’s most pressing challenges using research-led, data-driven approaches. Focused on impact, CFIT delivers tangible outcomes such as minimum viable products, regulatory frameworks, and strategic partnerships, setting the pace for transformation in financial services and cementing the UK’s position as a global fintech leader.
